RECAP: The Carrie Diaries 1x8 - "Hush Hush"

Secrets spill and true feelings are revealed in this week's The Carrie Diaries. Just when it seems things are going right for Carrie, all her secrets catch up with her and pinch her at the toes like a brand new pair of Manolo Blahniks. And what about Maggie and her secret? Can it be kept from her boyfriend Walt? Not if Donna has anything to say about it. Let the drama begin.

The Limelight Invite:

   Carrie is still pretending to be going to her internship at the law firm when her dad drops her off in the city, but she really sneaks off to her new internship at Interview magazine. Apparently "Bitchy Barbara" has agreed to cover for Carrie indefinitely! Looks like "Bitchy Barbara" is out and "Bodacious Barbara" is in!? She is truly loving her internship there and can't get enough of the environment, the fashion, and even Larissa. Although she has been submerged in a pool of sparkle and fabulousness, she still can't seem to distract herself enough from thinking about Sebastian. Luckily for her, a pair of Manolo Blahniks are doing the trick. Loretta being Loretta tells Carrie the shoes are hers and she can wear them to the Limelight party coming up...the same day as Carrie's school lock-in party. She pressures Carrie into attending and demands she be there if she is going to be one of them. Umm...sure! Could the timing be any more perfect?

   Carrie has Mouse and Maggie over to tell them the good news. Mouse is pretty disappointed that Carrie won't be attending the school event they've been talking about for years but understands how major it is that she is invited to a huge Manhattan party with Interview magazine. Mouse relays more good news and informs Carrie that she ran into Sebastian at school and told her that he is breaking up with Donna. Carrie is skeptical because they haven't heard anything at school so who knows if it will ever happen, especially since no one breaks up with Donna LaDonna. Sigh. Carrie is over the drama and like she says, "When one door closes, a shoebox opens."

   

Rewind and Fast-forward:

   Earlier at school, Sebastian confronts Mouse about acting weird around him since the school dance. She uses a snarky attitude to dig at Sebastian saying Carrie and her boyfriend George are completely happy, superfluous even, just like him and Donna. Right? Well Sebastian admits that he has been trying to figure out how to break up with Donna without any drama. Mouse is excited and asks if he is breaking up with Donna to be with Carrie. He tries to play it cool and says no but we all know better. Before heading off to class Mouse let's Sebastian in on a secret, Carrie and George are totally over.

   Maggie is starting to feel the weight of her guilt from cheating on Walt. He has no idea what is going on but is suspicious that something is wrong. Maggie is finally about to confess to Walt when Mouse interrupts and tells them about her run in with Sebastian. Maggie is worried now more than ever that her secret will be let out by a dumped Donna. 

   Sebastian decides it is best to dump Donna at the diner during their lunch break and surprisingly Donna is taking it pretty well. She plays it off as though the relationship was starting to fizzle anyway. She asks him to keep their break up a secret till after the lock-in. She says she prefers the fawning kind of attention rather than the "poor Donna" kind. Sebastian is glad that their break up is Donna drama free and even accepts the fact that Donna will tell everyone she dumped him. Oh chivalry..

   Back at school, Donna approaches Walt who is helping her prepare for the lock-in. She is thrilled when she finds out he got the reel of her favorite movie, Rocky III, and starts to realize that Walt is a really thoughtful guy. Finally it dawns on her as to how she will use Maggie's secret to her advantage. Uh oh, here comes trouble!

   Later that evening, Maggie and Mouse run into Sebastian at the diner while they stock up on food for the lock-in. Mouse blatantly asks why Sebastian didn't break up with Donna like he said he would. Sebastian tries to explain that it is complicated and that he is not going to the lock-in tonight because of it. Mouse won't let him get away with that answer and probes him further till he blurts out that they have broken up. So what are his future plans about Carrie? Well he was thinking about asking her to a movie - Umm...no! The girls shoot that idea down and suggest a big grand gesture. Inspired, he gives Carrie's home a call but Carrie deliberately ignores it as she is leaving for the city to go to the Limelight party. Feeling defeated, Mouse and Maggie decide to head over to the lock-in, but Sebastian isn't ready to give up. He asks the girls if they'd like to go on an adventure instead and find Bradshaw. The two are blown away by his idea and so Mouse agrees to join him.

The Getting Laid Venture:

   Family friend Harlan desperately wants to get Carrie's dad laid and back into the dating scene. He asks him to a steak dinner with two fine ladies to where her dad reluctantly agrees. The dinner is going well all things considered. While Harlan goes off to bone his date in the bathroom, Carrie's dad chats up his date respectively. They both admit they had low expectations for tonight but are glad they came. Harlan and his date return to the table and are determined to keep the party going. Harlan convinces Carrie's dad to stick around for a good time, and while Carrie's dad may believe he may not be ready...he is having a good time letting loose.

Lock in Secrets, Lock out Pain:

   The lock-in starts and Donna reveals to the Jens that she dumped Sebastian because things just weren't working out. She tells them that they are going to help her get a new guy she has her eye on. Hmm... could it be? Unsuspecting Walt is cornered by the Jens and is tricked into following them into the projector room. Door closed, he and Donna are alone. Donna starts by saying she has something to tell him about Maggie and hates to be the one to say it. Oh yes, of course...because this is just so hard for you. You ain't foolin' no one woman!

   Maggie finally locates Walt sitting alone on a bench deep in thought. He gives Maggie the third degree and ask how many times she was with that cop. Maggie tries to tell Walt that she ended it and it will never happen again. She screwed up because she was confused and they were having problems. She never wanted to hurt him and feels awful. Walt is angry and says he doesn't care about her feelings. There is no "us" and "we" doesn't exist anymore...ever. Completely heart broken, Maggie runs for the exit. After having a slight melt down as someone came to unlock the pad lock on the door, she exits the school and repeats to herself, "There is nothing here for me anymore."

   Donna finds Walt upset over by the lockers and apologizes for having to tell him about Maggie. She says she knows what it feels like because Sebastian dumped her. For once, Donna feels pain and is starting to wonder if there is something wrong with her. Walt tells her there is nothing wrong with her to where she replies there is nothing wrong with him. Walt finally makes the move and -gulp! - kisses her.

The Cinderella Moment and the Ding at Midnight:

   The party is pumping over at Limelight and Carrie is looking hot in her new kicks and dazzling one-shoulder ensemble. Over at the bar, Carrie gets scoped out by a pretty hot guy. He buys her a drink, but not just any drink. He gives Carrie her first cosmopolitan. So pretty! Here marks the start of a beautiful relationship and a new drink of choice. The two hit the dance floor and Carrie is a dancing machine. She is so good in fact that she is propped up on a platform for all to see. She is having a blast right up until she notices her father dancing with his date and Harlan on their own platform. She is absolutely stunned to where she doesn't even duck or hide. Seconds later she realizes her dad has noticed her as well and is in complete and utter shock. Shit is about to get real.

   He is furious and demands Carrie go home. The fight catches Larissa's attention and the diva flocks over to protect Carrie. She tells the man to stop acting like someone's father to which he replies he is Carrie's father. Carrie asks her dad why he's even there and he angrily retorts that he is an adult that can go wherever and dance however he wants but she on the other hand cannot because she is 16 years old. That's it, secret one is out. Larissa is shocked and asks Carrie if that is true. When Carrie agrees, Larissa couldn't be happier because now she has the youngest and hippest intern ever at Interview magazine. She couldn't be happier which allows Carrie one sigh of relief. But wait, Carrie is supposed to be still interning at the law firm. Secret two is finally out. Everyone starts to get into an argument so Carrie finally does what she should have done a long time ago, tell the truth.

   Carrie follows her dad to the car as he storms out of the party. He asks her if she really thought she could keep this huge other life from him and asks what happened to the girl who once looked before she jumped. She tries to explain but her dad won't hear it. He tells her to say goodbye to New York because she won't be seeing it ever again. Ouch! Did anyone else feel that tinge to the heart after hearing that statement? 

   Back at Limelight, Sebastian and Mouse have difficulty finding Carrie through the sea of people. They decide to give up and Mouse is frustrated that the grand gesture was an epic fail. Sebastian is still feeling good and doesn't regret coming in to the city because tomorrow Carrie will know he made the trip to find her. Mouse is impressed until she spots Sebastian's car being towed! Run!

The Next Day:

   Mouse visits Carrie's house and tells her about what happened last night with Sebastian. Carrie is taken with how romantic it was but before she can make a move with Sebastian, she wants to talk to her father who has been giving her the silent treatment. She approaches him downstairs reading the paper and she apologizes for lying and keeping secrets. She tries to tell him that last night was more than just a party. The people at Interview magazine value her because of how well she is doing. She didn't think he would understand or say yes if she had asked him and that is why she had to keep it a secret. Her dad is losing patience but Carrie continues elaborating on how much she loves her internship at Interview because of everything it has to offer her. Carrie's dad interjects and says of course she loves it because of all the parties. Hush Dad, no. The internship allows her to express herself and has made her believe she could be a writer. He doesn't believe her and claims she is only 16 so she doesn't know what she wants. Carrie replies she thinks she does and he may be able to keep her from the city and Interview, but he can't stop her from wanting it and wanting a life that is hers. 

   In school, Donna runs into Walt and says that things were a bit weird last night. She admits that she has always had a little crush on him, so he asks her what happens now. She gives him a big smooch and tells him that now he is her boyfriend. Ok then. 

   Carrie meets up with Sebastian at the diner for lunch and is finally feeling relieved that she doesn't have to hide her secrets or her feelings anymore.

RECAP: Girls 2x8 - "It's Back"

Roles have reversed in this episode of Girls. This time around, Hannah is the one spiraling down and Adam is rising from the ashes, Marnie is still in a slump and Charlie is climbing the ladder of success.

Hi My Name is Adam and I'm an Alcoholic:
   Adam is a mess and realizes he is slipping in almost all aspects of his life. He decides to attend an AA meeting because he is not feeling too solid anymore and is worried he will start drinking again. As one member is complaining about having to buy cookies for every meeting, Adam intervenes and unloads his thoughts to the group. Here is the brilliant speech Adam gives at the meeting:

"Hi, I’m Adam, and I’m an alcoholic. Um, I’ve been sober since I was 17. Um, I knew I had a problem pretty early and I dealt with it because I didn’t wanna wait, and I knew it would just get worse. I felt pretty solid after I stopped drinking, I stopped coming to as many meetings, but lately I haven’t felt so solid anymore so… I had this girlfriend who at first I didn’t like very much, or, I didn’t take her very seriously, I guess. She just seemed like, you know, a piece of ass. But she was persistent, man. And she just hung around, and hung around, and showed up at my place—and gradually, it started to feel better when she was there. It wasn’t “love” the way I imagined it. I just felt weird if I didn’t know what she was up to or whatever. And I liked knowing that she was just gonna be there, and warm, and staying the night. And she acted like I was teaching her everything. About fuckin’ history, about sex. She didn’t know what street Central Park started on, or how to use soap. And I showed her. And I wanted that chance to show someone everything. But she changed her mind about me, and it was that fast. I’m so exhausted. Okay. And I’ll bring cookies. I don’t really like cookies that much so don’t get mad if I bring the wrong shit."

   He catches the attention of an eccentric looking woman who wants to set him up with her daughter Natalia. She was really taken with his honesty and can tell he's a good boy. She gives Adam her daughter's number and says she'll be expecting his call. No pressure. After the meeting, Adam gives Natalia a ring and asks her to have dinner with him. She accepts and he tells her that she'll know who he is because he is very tall, semi-dashing, and will be looking at her...like a creep. Real smooth Adam.

   It's dinner time and Adam is a bit nervous waiting at their table. Finally Natalia arrives and by George she is a brunette bombshell! Way to go Mama Cray-Cray. The two cuties are really hitting it off over dinner, talking and laughing. She tells Adam that she works with a private investigator and sometimes she is used as a decoy for cheating spouses. Adam is blown away at how cool Natalia is and how easy it is to talk to her. Even Natalia appears to find Adam quite charming. Could this be the start of a new relationship? Hmm...I don't hate it!


The Door Man Opportunity:
   Shoshanna, Ray and Marnie take a nice stroll in the park discussing the whereabouts of the missing Jessa. This is classic Jessa so Marnie isn't too worried about it. Her attitude changes when Shoshanna informs her of Charlie's latest business venture. Apparently the ex-boyfriend sold an app he designed for a large sum of money to a business tycoon and now has an office in Chelsea and is doing very well for himself. Marnie is totally freaked and leaves the couple to check it out for herself.

   Still at the park, Shoshanna runs into her old friend Radika who invites her to a party at her apartment. Shoshanna is stoked but Ray has no desire to go and be the old guy at a college party. Totally understandable for viewers but not for Shoshanna who says she is going with or without him.

   Shoshanna arrives to her friends apartment building looking very fabulous. So fabulous that she catches the eye of the latino door man. Maybe some spice for the gringa? Up at the party, all Shoshanna can talk about is Ray which completely bores Radika who finds an excuse to ditch her at the couch. Feeling bummed, Shoshanna decides to leave and is stopped by the door man on her way out. He strikes up a conversation about possibly seeing her at a club. She tells him he's really good looking for a door man and he responds by telling her she is very beautiful. Uh oh, could this be going where we think it's going? Yup. The two end up making out in the lobby mail room. I think I speak for everyone when I say, damn...didn't know Shosh had it in her.





The OCD Itch:
   Hannah has been super stressed over writing her e-book which has caused her to resort to her old OCD habits. Apparently she had dealt with the symptoms back in high school but had been better up until the additional stress. Hannah has developed an obsession with the number 8. She must look over her shoulder 8 times, open and close the door 8 times before entering, eat 8 potato chips at once and chew 8 times before swallowing. Rough life.

   Hannah meets up with her parents for dinner at a fancy restaurant and they can instantly tell something is up with Hannah when she starts to flinch. During drinks, her parents notice her counting and become very concerned. They suggest bringing her home and having her meet with a doctor to address her OCD rituals. Hannah is convinced she is alright and that she isn't exhibiting any OCD behavior. She excuses herself and on her way to the bathroom she accidentally bumps into a man sitting at the table. Her OCD strikes up and she goes back to bump into his arm 8 more times. Awkward! When she reaches the bathroom, she finally comes to terms with the fact that she has a problem.

   She meets with her doctor and tells him that the symptoms have only started a few weeks ago. She gets very frustrated with him when he calls her symptoms "classical" and matter of factly tells him of her past with OCD. Apparently it was so bad to the point where she had to masturbate 8 times in a night to where her leg was twitching and she was crying, check her parents room 8 times to make sure they didn't hear, move her toothbrush 64 times, move her dad's toothbrush 64 times...the list goes on and on. Poor girl, very enlightening on how severe OCD can get. The doctor prescribes her some meds and Hannah obliges. Here's hoping they can help her get back on track.




The App That Changed Everything:

   Marnie surprises Charlie at his office and is blown away at how much he's changed. He is successful, is the office favorite among co-workers and has really turned his life around. Marnie tries to play it cool and supportive but Charlie knows better. He is on his guard and can tell she is only there because she needs support from him since she is struggling. Marnie disregards his assumptions and asks him about the app that brought all this about. He tells her the app is designed to prevent you from calling people you shouldn't call. If you actually do decide to call them, you have to pay $10. I gotta say, that is pretty freakin' brilliant! Where has this app been all our lives!? Lord knows we could have used it those nights we were alone in our rooms arguing with ourselves whether or not to call the girls or the guys who have broken our hearts. In fact, his break-up with Marnie is what inspired the app in the first place. That's not weird...right?

   Marnie returns to Shoshanna's apartment and finds Ray reading a book. She unloads on him and tells him that Charlie was supposed to be broken for at least six years. She says people like Charlie who are sad messes, end up living their dreams and people who have their shit together like her, are left flailing behind. Ray tries to offer her advice and says she needs to stop thinking about her dream and start doing it. He asks her what her dream is and she admits that she has always wanted to be a singer. He is surprised, as are we, and asks her to sing something. To everyone's shock, Marnie is pretty damn good. Maybe not Beyonce status but still pretty damn good. He encourages her to start working towards that goal because she won't look this good forever. Fact.

Fairy tale Flashback:
   Young Snow and her mother, who is currently alive, are excited for the ball later that evening celebrating Snow's birthday. Her mother mentions a gift she would like to give Snow, a tiara that has been passed down by the women of the family. The two enter the queen's chambers for the heirloom but catch their hand maid Johanna trying the tiara on. Snow lets her bitchy side loose reprimanding Johanna that it is her tiara and it was not meant for servants to wear, only royalty. Her mother is shocked and scolds her for acting so ugly. She explains to Snow that she was not raised that way and that when she wears this tiara it will be her duty to lead the people with goodness and rule justly. Suddenly, her mother collapses out of breath.

   The doctor is unsure of what is ailing the queen and requests that someone send word to the King, who is away, that his wife is ill. Snow proposes they cancel the celebration until the queen is feeling better but her mother protests. She wants to see her daughter walk into the ballroom wearing the tiara on her birthday. The queen begins to cough up blood and Snow is ushered out of the bed chambers. Snow fears her mother will die and confides in Johanna who suggests that perhaps magic can save the queen if medicine cannot. She informs Snow of her mother's secret confidant, the blue fairy, that has very powerful magic. She says the fairy will only grant a wish if the person's heart is true. Determined, Snow sets off into the woods late at night to wish on the blue star that will summon the fairy.

   As she struggles to find the correct star to wish upon, she is surprised by the blue fairy herself. Snow begs the blue fairy to help save her mother but the fairy confesses that she won't be able to cheat death with her pure magic. Snow refuses to give up and says there must be something she can do. The blue fairy discloses that she may be able to conjure a remedy that is forbidden among the fairies but Snow must swear never to tell anyone of this. The fairy presents Snow with a candle that is infused with dark magic that can save her mother. She warns Snow that all magic comes with a price and in order for one life to be saved, another life must be lost in return. Snow must choose a life to sacrifice, hold the candle over their heart and whisper their name. When the candle is lit, their life will be traded for her mothers.
   The next day Snow runs into her mother's chambers sobbing. She explains that she met with the blue fairy last night and was given a dark magic candle that can restore her life by taking someone else's life. Well did she do it? Of course not, it's Snow White. She apologizes to her mother for being too afraid to take a person's life to save hers. Her mother is proud of her daughter and tells her that it took great strength to overcome darkness. She tells Snow that with or without her, she will be a great queen someday. With that, the queen takes her last breath. 
   After the queen's funeral, the "blue fairy" who is actually Cora in disguise appears and reveals she had poisoned the queen. She tells the queen's corpse that one day she will turn Snow's heart black and will destroy the queen's legacy. 

The Search for the Dagger:
   Snow and Charming or rather Mary Margaret and David are back at Emma's loft where Mary Margaret refuses to celebrate her birthday. David tries to convince her otherwise but she won't hear it. She finds a present sitting on the table that was left at the door for her containing the tiara her mother had given her. She reads the card and sees that it was sent to her by Johanna who she didn't realize was in Storybrooke. While Snow goes off in search of her friend, David returns to the sheriff's office. He is unexpectedly attacked by Hook who knocks him out with a crowbar-ouch! He grabs David's keys and unlocks the drawer holding his infamous hook.

   Snow reunites with Johanna at her home and thanks her for the gift. Apparently Johanna came across it in Gold's shop and knew Mary Margaret had to have it. The two reminisce over the past and the origin of Snow's name is revealed. According to Johanna, Snow was born during one of the kingdom's harshest winters. Johanna was planting snowdrop flowers in memory of Mary Margaret's mother and as the two think of her benevolence, they hear a strange noise coming from the forest nearby. Mary Margaret leaves Johanna and goes off to investigate. She spots Regina and Cora digging a large hole and overhears them discussing finding Gold or Rumpelstiltskin's dagger and killing whomever Regina wants. Mary Margaret races over to the sheriff's office and finds David passed out on the ground. She brings him to consciousness and informs him that Regina and Cora have conspired together to find the dagger and abuse it's power. Worried Gold won't come back to town in time, Mary Margaret concocts a plan to slow Regina down by putting doubt inside her head about Cora's motives.

   Mary Margaret gets Regina to meet with her at Granny's diner and confronts her about lying and searching for the dagger. Mary Margaret advises her that she has one last chance to choose the side of good and that she shouldn't give that up considering she has been working so hard to change for the better. Regina rebuttals and tells her that she doesn't want to sit around with hypocrites who pretend to forgive her but in fact hate her. She cautions Mary Margaret to stay out of her way. Mary Margaret warns Regina that listening to her mother is a mistake because Cora doesn't care about her or Henry. All she wants is power. Regina ends the conversation with, "and what would you know about mothers?" Harsh. 
   Figuring magic may be the only way to stop the evil mother daughter duo, Mary Margaret and David drive over to mother superior (a.k.a. The Blue Fairy) and ask her for help in finding the dagger before Cora and Regina do. The three stop off at Gold's shop but are unable to disarm a dark magic protection spell on the entrance. Mary Margaret suggests they try and use dark magic just like the blue fairy told her when she was a child. Mother superior is surprised and says she never said such a thing. Hmm..wonder why?

Back in the Big Apple:
   Neal and Henry are bonding quite nicely but the two still haven't forgiven Emma or Gold. Gold proposes that Emma talk to Neal and try to convince him to move to Storybrooke with them. She is reluctant at first but is convinced when Gold calls her out on being worried she'll get hurt again by Neal if he moves there.

   Finally alone, Emma reminds Neal that they will have to go back to Storybrooke and that he should come with them if he wants to spend more time with Henry. Neal says he can't because of complicated reasons but there is something he has been wanting to tell Emma for a while. Before he can get a word in, they are interrupted by Henry who is excited about taking the subway for the first time. As Neal and Henry run off, Emma tells Gold that Neal may need more time before he goes to Storybrooke. Out of nowhere, Hook bursts in, pushes Emma to the ground, backs Gold to the wall, and stabs him in the chest with his hook. "Times up crocodile". Hook threatens to finish him off but before he can plunge his hook once more into Gold, Emma rises and smashes a fire extinguisher at Hook knocking him unconscious. Back at Neal's apartment, Emma locks Hook in a random storage closet and Neal tends to the bleeding Gold. She says she found a map on Hook's person that depicts the route Hook used to sail to Manhattan.

   Henry tries to comfort Gold, but Gold angrily whispers that this is all Henry's fault for bringing them back here. Henry is completely startled and leaves the room per Emma's request. Emma and Neal take a look at Gold's wound and see that it is surrounded by yellow puss. Apparently Hook had glazed his hook with poison that is not from this world, so no hospital or normal antidote can cure it. Gold tells them there is a cure back in Storybrooke and that the fastest way to get home is by sailing Hook's ship The Jolly Roger. Neal agrees to captain the voyage because supposedly he knows Hook and this world was not the first stop he made when he left home (his original magical realm). 
   Henry rejoins them and shows Emma a text he received from Mary Margaret communicating everything that has been happening in Storybrooke. Gold isn't worried that Regina and Cora will find his dagger because he has kept it hidden for centuries. Emma recommends Gold that he will have to trust somebody some time.

Losing Patience, Losing Faith:
   David gets a call from Emma and reveals the location of the daggers whereabouts. The camera pans to the clock tower....but of course! David and Mary Margaret make their way up the clock tower and discover the dagger attached to the back of one of the clock hands. Deep sigh of relief right? Wrong. Cora and Regina appear out of their usual clouds of purple smoke and summon Johanna. Regina grabs Johanna's heart right out of her chest and gives Mary Margaret a choice, the dagger or her friend's life. Well played ladies, well played. 

   Cora recites words Snow had once heard when she was a child and realizes that the blue fairy that had sworn her to secrecy in regards to the evil candle was in fact Cora the entire time. Mary Margaret continues to make several revelations including the fact that Cora had killed her mother to make her daughter the queen. Feeling hopeless, Mary Margaret falls to her knees and surrenders the dagger. Cora has what she wanted...but not quite everything. She uses her magic to thrust Johanna out the clock tower window and fall to her death. Oh snap! What a bitch! Regina and Cora disappear and leave Mary Margaret to mourn over the loss of her beloved friend.
   Regina and Cora congregate back at Regina's home to celebrate their victory. Confused, Regina confronts her mother about her history with Snow's mother the queen. Eventually it comes to her. The day Regina rescued Snow from the runaway horse was set up by Cora. Everything had been planned by Cora so her daughter could take the throne. Regina asks her mother why she wants the dagger if she has already become queen. Cora assures her that Regina will have Henry now that they have the dagger and not to fear her motives.
   Emma and Neal search the streets for a friend's car to take Gold to Hook's ship. On the way, Neal tells Emma they need to finish their earlier conversation. Once again the two are interrupted but this time by a woman running to Neal's side. He explains that this is his fiance Tamara. Emma clearly looks a bit heartbroken at this news and I'm sure Nemma fans felt the same.

   Mary Margaret and David bury Johanna's body in the local cemetery and lament over the situation. Mary Margaret is starting to lose faith in goodness, her decisions, and who she is. It is settled. No more lives will be lost and no more hearts will be broken. She no longer cares about justice, she wants revenge. Mary Margaret is determined to kill Cora.

Friendships come in all different forms. Some stay, some go, some develop quickly, some take longer, some last a few months or weeks, and some are lifelong. The best kind of friendships are the ones where you can count on the other to be there for you when you need them. For Nick and Schmidt, their friendship started as college roommates and has continued to flourish nearing ten years. A reason to celebrate? We think so, but will the party go as expected? Absolutely not...of course.

Tinfinity and Beyond:
   The ten year anniversary of Nick and Schmidt living together is quickly approaching and Schmidt wants to throw a big anniversary party. Winston isn't too thrilled since their previous anniversary parties were disasters; insert wood themed party and paper themed party flashbacks here. Jess is on board and even comes up with the theme after realizing that Schmidt and Nick's initials "S" and "N" are the chemical symbol for tin. It is decided. The festivities shall be called "Tinfinity". 
   Schmidt wants Nick to help out with the party planning but is reluctant to assign him any big responsibilities. As we know, Nick isn't exactly the party planning type and can barely remember to bring balloons to a party. Finally Schmidt decides the best task for Nick is to order the port-a-potty for the party at the park. Nick agrees but we can't help but sense that something is bound to go awry.

   Jess can't stop thinking about her kiss with Nick and decides that it is time to start dating again. She struggles finding any normal guys at the bar but perks up when she spots Jax McTaven, a pro-football player, hanging out with Winston in a booth. Jess begs to be introduced but Winston refuses. He says they just finished an interview at the radio station and things are going well between them. The last thing he needs is for Jess to screw it up. Jess ignores him and introduces herself to him instead.

   Cece is still seeing that British guy Shivrang and things seem to be progressing in their relationship. In fact he informs Cece that his mother spoke to her mother and they both give their blessings. Cece is confused up until Shivrang so eloquently asks, "So when do you want to do this thing?" Pause. Wait for effect. What!? If that is a proposal, I'd hate to see what he has to say for his wedding vows. Cece brushes off her dismay and the two head off for the party.

   It's the day of the party and things are looking tin-tastic. The decor is top notch and everything is according to plan. Nick surprises us all when he remembers to rent a port-a-potty for the party. The only thing is is that it is a piece of shit port-a-potty, pun intended, that I don't think a dog would even pee on. Despite that fact, Schmidt is proud of Nick for coming through for him and says now the party has two bathrooms. Nick is confused until he sees the large and luxurious port-a-potty that Schmidt had rented in case Nick forgot. Nick is upset and asks Schmidt to get rid of it so everyone will use his port-a-potty. No dice Nick. No one wants to go near that dump; pun intended as well.

   Jess puts the flirt on with Jax during a friendly game of football with the guys. The two are really hitting it off but Winston can't help but feel miserable. He really doesn't want Jess to complicate things for his friendship with Jax. Feeling confident, Jess decides to rub it in Nick's face that she has found a guy who actually talks about his feelings but can't help noticing that Nick is pretty bummed no one will use his run-down port-a-potty. As a good friend, Jess agrees to use the stall...poor girl. After what we can imagine was a horrific bathroom experience, Jess reunites with Jax. He admits that he really likes Jess and has felt that way the moment he met her. Jess is really happy that Jax says exactly what he feels...up until Jax literally breaks into tears over how much he likes Jess. Umm...attractive? Jax apologizes for acting so strange and explains that he just got out of a relationship and is still sensitive. According to him, when he falls, he falls hard and sometimes even cries. Jess forgives him and even gets forward in saying she wants to french him. Classy lady.
   It's nearly toast time and Schmidt hands Nick a speech written on some index cards for him. As Nick reads through the speech, he notices that a majority of the it is about how much Schmidt has helped and supported Nick through his "thing". Offended, Nick asks Schmidt why he thinks he is better than him. According to Nick, they were equals back in college but now things have changed. In fact, Nick doesn't even know why they are celebrating living ten years with a college roommate.

   Shivrang figures that during the party would be the perfect time to propose to Cece. He takes the stage and starts to give a speech about how excited he is to spend the rest of his life with Cece. With that, he gets on one knee and pops the question. Schmidt stands to the side, completely stunned as Cece says "yes". Completely devastated, Schmidt gets the hell out of there. Jax jumps on stage moments later and reports that his heart is missing because it was stolen by Jess. Get ready for the most awkward moment of the season. Jax admits that he has fallen in love with Jess and thinks she is the girl he is going to marry. He elaborates and says he is going to marry her, put a baby in her, and have dogs and cats together. He has officially met his third wife. Absolutely mortified, Jess takes off. Face meet palm.

   Nick runs after Schmidt to check on him and suggests they leave the party and hang out together. He surprises Schmidt with a rented hot air balloon...but no propane to make it go up. The two sit in the grounded basket and soak up the peacefulness of the night. Schmidt confesses he thought that he would be the one to bone Cece for the rest of her life. Nick consoles him and Schmidt explains that that is what they are celebrating, being best friends.
